Herbol Herbosil is a highly water vapour diffusible, silicone resin reinforced, filled Sil facade paint with reliable moisture protection. The Sil façade paint is equipped with a preventive film protection against algae and moss infestation. The façade paint offers excellent grain coverage on coarse renders and adheres very well to mineral substrates such as silicate paints, dispersion silicate paints, dispersion paints and synthetic resin renders. Coarse spray and scratch plasters can be painted over safely and reliably.
The substrate must be solid, clean, stable, dry, free of efflorescence, algae, moss, fungi, flour grains, sinter layers and separating agents. Soiling caused by soot and chalking components must be cleaned beforehand. Repair defects, holes and damage with levelling compound. Depending on the substrate, apply a primer coat (see info download). In the case of high-contrast substrates or strong colour differences between the old coat and the renovation colour, an intermediate coat of Herbol Herbosil, diluted approx. 10 % with water, in the desired new colour is always required. Then apply a full and even coat of Herbol Herbosil, diluted with water to a maximum of 5-10 % by volume. Clean tools with water immediately after use.
Consumption:
approx. 180 ml/m² per coat (on smooth substrates); up to approx. 450 ml/m² per coat (on rough substrates).
