Wilckens Universal Fixation is a ready-to-use PVC adhesive with high initial adhesion. This is suitable for fixing floor coverings with different backings such as jute, textile, fleece and foam backing, linoleum as well as CV and PVC coverings indoors. The adhesive can be used on cement screeds (filled), floor leveling compounds, natural and artificial stones and similar surfaces. The universal fixing is low in solvents and emission-free.
Proper pre-treatment of the substrate is crucial for a good and long-lasting coating. The surface must be suitable, clean, dry, level, load-bearing, absorbent and adhesive. Any coatings that are not intact or unsuitable must be completely removed and any damaged areas must be filled. Depending on requirements, the surface should be primed and roughened if necessary. The air, object and material temperature should be at least +8°C. Before laying, store the coverings to be processed flat at room temperature. Roll out the flooring and cut it to size. Test the suitability of the material to be bonded in advance with a test bond. Be sure to follow the flooring manufacturer’s installation instructions. Shake well before use. Apply the adhesive to the surface with a notched trowel or roller. For absorbent surfaces, place the covering in the still damp adhesive bed and roll it evenly. If water vapor impermeable CV and PVC coverings are laid on non-absorbent surfaces, the fixing should be distributed evenly on the surface and allowed to dry for approx. 20-30 minutes. However, the glue should still be adhesive (finger test). Then place the covering in the adhesive bed and press it firmly or use a roller. If necessary, reroll again after 30-50 minutes. Edges and joints may need to be weighted down. For CV coverings, it is recommended to seal the joints with cold welding agent. Adhesive residue should be removed immediately with water.
